We moved to Hagerstown three years ago, after being in Annapolis on the river for the previous 15 years. I'll probably be older than your average participant - I have been "in computers" since 1982. It was fun, but a little strange, to celebrate a 25th anniversary last year of "being connected".
My name comes from our black lab, Medico, who just turned two and has more energy than my husband and I put together. That is exactly why we got him - you cannot be a couch potato with a puppy in the house. We named him Medico, e.g. doctor, because he keeps us moving and healthier.
Both of us are getting our Master's in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland University College via their online courses. We have learned a ton about Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc., how health care functions (not the way you would expect), what the history is for doctors (not hard to tell because they haven't changed much), how hospitals work (you don't want to know), how government has interacted with healthcare (you wouldn't want their help), and whether universal health care will happen (it won't - nobody can pay for it).
Our last class is this summer, and then we just need to decide what we will get a degree in next. We really enjoy being lifelong learners.
So - a question for Jonathan - with such awesome web skills, where do you work? This site is really impressive.
